Problem 2: Problem 4.10, page 126. Add lines to the table for 28km and 215km. The last of these is close to the distance of a geosynchronous satellite.

Problem 5: Find the critical angle for a fiber optic cable in which the core and cladding have index of refractions of 1.47 and 1.45.

Problem 6: Problem 5.1, page 167
Before answering this question, define differential encoding.

Problem 7: Problem 5.19, page 169
Remember that we are quantizing voltage and that SNR is a ratio of powers.

Problem 8: Problem 5.20, page 169
I would reword these as follows:
a. What is the maximum number of uniform quantization levels if SNR is 30 dB?
b. What is the data rate required for this digital signal generated?
