CS 3733 Operating Systems, Fall 2004 Assignment 5 Demonstration Procedures
Assignment 5 will be tested in the Sun lab on Tuesday, November 30 at 12:30.
If the assignment is not ready for testing:
- Make sure the cover sheet is completely filled out.
- For those parts that you think are working, describe how you tested the
program to convince yourself that is is working.
- For the rest of the assignment, describe the progress you made.
- Find me in the lab and hand me your assignment.
- You do not have to stay until the end of the class period.
- I will discuss this assignment in class on Thursday.
If the assignment is ready for testing:
- Make a directory containing your executables and the last two
mymakefile files (numbers 3 and 4).
- Create 3 windows.
- In window 1: get into the directory containing your executables.
- In each of windows 2 and 3, log into other Sun machines and get into
the same directory.
- Start the networkcompiler on each of windows 2 and 3.
- Be prepared to do the following:
- In window 1, run mymake with mymakefile3 and the two hosts
you logged into.
- Use cut and paste to save the output in each of the three windows
in a file. Clearly label which output is from each window.
- Repeat the process for mymakefile4.
- Do not start any of the above until I can watch the results.
- Hand me your printout with your cover page before you start the
demonstration. I will make notes on your cover page and return the
printout to you.
- After you have demonstrated your program, print out the two files created,
attach them to the end of your printout and hand me the printout.
- You may leave the lab when you have completed this.
